Sustainable Development Goals: Global Zinc Sector Roadmap Kick-Off

Jun 11, 2019 | Circular Economy, Climate Change, Responsible sourcing, Sustainability and Recycling

With the recent update to IZA’s sustainability website, stakeholders have been given access to numerous case studies that demonstrate how the zinc industry is actively contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). IZA will utilize this information
to develop an SDG global zinc sector roadmap project in partnership with ERM, a renowned SD consultancy.

The goal of the roadmap is to focus and accelerate IZA actions towards achieving its mission of advancing zinc products and markets and communicating the unique attributes that make zinc sustainable and essential for life.

The UN SDG’s aim to address global challenges including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. Zinc users, endusers, and the financial sector (green financing) make decisions based on contributions of products and value chains to the UN SDG‘s.
